  • Handling matters concerning establishment and coordination of fire safety policy
  • Handling matters concerning guidance on and supervision of fire safety management by specific firefighting object
  • Handling matters concerning safe handling of equipment involving fire
  • Establishing and implementing fire safety standards
  • Developing and researching fire safety standards for special constructions
  • Handling matters concerning performance-focused design of a specific firefighting object
  • Responding to civil complaints and public suggestions on firefighting policy; and operation and management of the relevant systems
  • Operating and managing certification systems for facility fire safety managers and firefighting facility management business
  • Handling matters concerning special investigation into in fire safety for prevention of building fires
  • Running the Central Firefighting Technology Deliberative Committee
  • Handling matters concerning operation and supervision of the Korea Fire Protection Association (only for tasks prescribed in Article 15, Paragraphs 1 and 3 of the Act on The Indemnification for Fire-Caused Loss and the Purchase of Insurance Policies)
  • Handling matters concerning creation and implementation of a fire prevention plan for firefighting objects as well as safety of special objects for fire safety
  • Providing guidance, supervision, promotion efforts and support in relation to the Division’s work for non-profit organizations such as the Korea Fire Safety Association
  • Handling administrative work related to operation and supervision of in-house inspections of firefighting systems
  • Managing bills on and systems for management of safety at multi-use establishments
  • Handling matters concerning systems related to fire damage liability insurance and operating a computer network for multi-use establishment
  • Running a fire risk assessment system
  • Appointing exemplary fire-fighting objects and rewarding the relevant persons
  • Managing and implementing the Regulations on Fire Safety Control of Public Institutions and relevant systems
  • Handling matters concerning proposing a bill on management of accidents in super high-rise and complex buildings with underground connections (hereinafter “Super High-Rise Buildings, Etc.”) as well as relevant systems
  • Handling matters concerning R&D on disaster prevention and damage reduction technology related to Super High-Rise Buildings, Etc. as well as development of a disaster safety manual and its distribution
